Phase I: East Runway Drainage Repair Underway. Drainage repair on the east side of the runway has started. Working from the southeast end of the airport back toward the north, the taxiway and apron to Runway 35 has been modified to accommodate a subterranean drain. As a result, the taxiway and apron to the runway hold line will have a greatly reduced slope. Now it will take far less power to taxi onto the runway and the apron area will remain dry. When exiting or taking off from Runway 35, having to ford a stream or risking a prop strike is now history.

(Before) Northwest Development Electric Meter Support Panels Replaced

Plywood backing on the electric meters of Northwest Development T-hangars had deteriorated long past their useful life. Many meters were supported only by conduit and several others were disconnected from the R panels altogether. After becoming aware of the situation, the Board of Directors recognized a high potential for loss of service. Under the direction of board member Carey Sharp, the Board of Directors evaluated several bids and chose the winner. Anthony Electric has replaced the plywood panels with steel frames and supports. All T-hangar owners will share the cost of only about $50 each. Total cost to replace all panels was just under $3,700.

Between Bravo and Charlie... Removing 33 years of silt... (Steve T.) "The water seepage is from a perched water table finding the least path of resistance. We moved the extra soil anticipating longer drying time and prospects of better soil on the West we can use at the end of drainage project. There are 5 test holes showing water rising from a heavy soil that remains saturated most of the year."
